Thanks for your sound advice on this. In the interim, she has escaped expulsion. May return to take exams tomorrow. Still considering where her residence will be this year. Ironically, this has all occurred after her grades have finally seen some dramatic improvement...she has always been unmotivated beyond obvious capabilities. But, do you suggest that the rule regarding the can is stupid? This was in her backpack for the express purposes of getting high (was NOT hairspray, but something called Dustbuster, the new rage for inhalants.) She admitted that's what it's for, but that her friend asked her to hold it, and that she never intended to use any? Should we not punish for this? Thanks again.
