My 14 year old son is extremely picky with food has very poor eating habits--he skips breakfasts, always wants to eat sweets and junk foods, does not eat any fruits, vegetables or any fresh foods at all. If left to his own devices, he would get very little nutrition and would just eat a lot of junk. We do what we can to get healthy food into him but if he doesn't want to eat it, we don't force him or get into a battle with him. If he's still hungry after dinner, he will eat some snacks afterward. His health and energy is fine though he is very skinny. We've certainly made mistakes around food when he was younger, but here we are now and he's 14, so not sure of the best way to navigate this.
