Question
We have a problem with humility and competition in our 6.5 yr son. He is a very good student in first grade at a private christian school. When returned papers with a good score, he likes to show it to other students (esp the girl right next to him who is his closest competition). He always has to "be first" in line, and win the race when playing toy cars, planes, etc. How can we harness this behavior? we have tried looking up verses on being humble together, talking about how it makes others feel (golden rule), and discussed how it will not make him a good friend to have this behavior. Suggestions are appreciated! Thank you.
