How do you discipline a child for being too loud and wild? Our 6 year old grandson, who stays with us several days during the week, is much too loud, often screaming when playing. He also seems to get overly excited and wild, especially at family gatherings. His parents are separated but he was doing this long before. He alienates other kids because of his rough play although he is not mean. He is very social but doesn't seem to know how to control himself. We put him in timeout but it is only effective for the period of time he is sitting. I don't want to stay on him all the time and it seems when I do he only gets worse. What do we do?
