"The child who is disciplined as well as he or she is loved is a happy, healthy child. "

Too much spanking

Question

We joined a new church about 2 years ago and all the folks there really follow Tedd Tripp's and Ezzo's books for Christian discipline. Most of the moms at my church believe that a spanking is the direct path to a child's heart.
I'm afraid that I have fallen into a pattern of late, of spanking my children too much. I have never been abusive, but I have also never felt right about using a wooden spoon and spanking one or all of my children Daily or more. I was (and still am) a huge fan of John's, having read all his books and being a member of this site for several years.
I feel that I have lost my way a bit and I want to go back to my old ways of disciplining my children. Those same ways that are defined in all of John's books. My question is, do I need to do or say anything when making this change back to what is right for our family? Or do I just make the change? Also, any advice on how to be around SO many folks who are good Christian people, but spank their kids SO often?
As always, thanks
