Question
My 11 year old son is very interested in guns. I have overheard him talking to his friend about what it would be like to kill someone. We don't own or ever will own a gun. Our household is pretty normal with both parents happy and involved in his life. My question is if this is normal discussion with this age or should we be worried about this.
A: Fifty years ago, I doubt any parent was overly concerned with a boy talking about guns or killing someone. Very few boys of that generation grew up to be killers. But today we let our imaginations run wild and think that "tough talk" will translate into "jail sentence" in the blink of an eye. So relax and let boys be boys. Let me know how it goes and hang in there!
