Question
My active son is in 2nd grade. He finished 1st grade with a good report card. From the beginning of this year, his teacher has recommended a "plan" so he can keep up in school this year and beyond. I think he understands his school work and home work which he does without much assistance from me relatively quickly. Creative writing and spelling during creative writing is a weak area for him. Behavior is good. School wants a formal 504 plan so that he has extended test taking time. I am skeptical - I would rather have him do his work and work hard than try to "get around it." How do I deal with this?
