Question
I am having trouble with my four year old in the area of basic manners. She is a middle child and swings from being reasonably bubbly and chirpy to being shy. I have taught her (on what feels like a daily basis) that she is to be courteous to people and say please, thank you, respond appropriately when spoken to etc. But depending on her mood she will either respond like a model child or she will just stare at the person and not respond at all. It drives me crazy when she is rude. Can you please give me some creative examples of how to discipline her in this area?
