Question
My daughter has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and has been recommended for treatment. My husband and I recognize that she needs help managing her anxiety, but we don't want to move directly to medicine. There has been a history of anxiety since birth. The psychologist has said it is genetic, but there has not been a physical exam. There is a history of anxiety in our family. She has had some counseling, but has not responded. I have been given some good suggestions on how to interact with her when she is anxious, and she responded. Where do I go from here?
