Question
My 14-year-old daughter got caught using her cell phone in school. The phone was taken, and we have handed out consequences (no phone and extra chores). But later learned she didn't not apologize to the teacher for handling it poorly as she indicated to us. This is disappointing because in our discussion after the issue we discussed the importance of honesty, integrity, and accountability. This was the opportunity for her to come clean and make it right. I learned from the teacher today that she didn't not apologize, and she lied to us about it. I plan to have her write a 3-page essay with biblical references on honesty, integrity, and accountability, as well as write an apology note to the teach for handing the situation poorly. Am I over correcting?
