Question
Our Kindergarten daughter (almost 6) has been recommended for retention. Husband and I asked why. Developmentally she’s not ready to move forward. When we probed her teacher, her answer was: she just doesn’t want to do school- she’d rather play and doesn’t see the point. Some academic concerns thrown in there. So it’s an attitude issue? Yes we are seeing this at home. We have prayed, sought council and are aiming to work hard with her at home. Husband and I are confused as to the real reason.
