6YO Needs Attitude Adjustment

Question

Hello, my six year old son is struggling with his attitude and respect towards authority. We realized our leadership talk was poor, and have since adjusted. Additionally, we have "lowered the boom" and all privileges (except 2x a week swim team) have been revoked. This includes toys, tv, after school clubs, birthday parties, etc. He is allowed to participate in family outing/activities. When he arrives home from school, he goes into chores/homework until dinner. After dinner, he immediately goes into his bedtime routine. We have given him one week to show he can change is attitude/respect till he earns one privilege back. If he returns back to his old ways, that privilege is again revoked and we start over. My question, how long until we see effective change? We do not want to drive our child to anger, but do expect a change in his posture. Thank you for any guidance.
