Question
I am having issues with my 11 yo son. He recently got his phone taken away for looking up inappropriate things. He also isn't able to play video games on the weekend unless his teacher signs a pre-filled note confirming he's done all of his work that week. Now, twice in the past couple of weeks, we've had to address him saying and making inappropriate sounds when he's with his friends. At this point, he's got an (almost) empty room, no phone, no video games. I told him in 3 weeks with no lying (another issue) and not arguing with me, he could get one toy or privilege back. He's a generally sweet boy but when we talk with him it's like it's not sinking in. I've told my husband we're not talking to him about his behavior anymore and we're going to let him wonder what we're thinking since we've done almost all of the talking lately. Oof, I've officially run out of things to take away and I want to make sure we're on the right track or what to do better.
