Question
My 10-year-old son is apologizing profusely. If we correct him, he tends to say "I'm sorry" many times, even after we acknowledged the apology. I told him that I will acknowledge the first apology, because that is appropriate, and I will ignore all subsequent "sorrys" that pertain to the same mistake. Is this what I should be doing? He is a great kid overall, but he can be self-deprecating and very judgmental of himself.
