Question
My 5 year old has apraxia of speech and does both speech therapy and OT. He is very smart but gets frustrated very easily when things are difficult. He will be starting Kindergarten at the school where his older brother attends this fall. He's excited and a little nervous but I'm probably more nervous for him as his mom because I want him to be brave and not fall into his pattern of crying/meltdowns when he is doing something new or challenging.
How can we work on being braver and less crying over the summer? How can I encourage him to still try something even when he's scared or nervous?
