My daughter is 5 and she is fixated with sweets. It’s all she talks about (donuts, cakes, cookies, candy anything) and she’s old enough that we talk to her about healthy food choices and why too much sugar is bad for her. It’s becoming a problem where that’s all she asks for, talks about and picks out. Every week at church they give the kids candy and it’s always a fight to tell her she can’t have it every week. We discussed always taking it away but that just makes her more focused on it. We also talked about making it just one day of sweets but then she goes over board and is still fixated on the day she can have them. Help! How do we get a healthy relationship with sugar/sweets?
