Question
My daughter (2) has done pretty well in being gentle with books. But recently she has started tearing pages and biting books. It doesn’t matter if they are normal books or board books, she is hard on them. We have had to tape up numerous books each week. She is harder on books now than my son (1). I have dealt with her on this and told her that if she tears books we won’t read her any stories the rest of the day. But she still keeps doing it. We have so many books that it would be very challenging to pack them up. Plus this would be a punishment to her brother who is being good. What do you suggest I do? She is doing better behavior wise in other areas but just as we get one issue fixed she develops another issue that needs dealt with.
