10 year old with anger issues
What is your advice as to how to teach a 10 yr old boy how to control his emotions, instead of letting his emotions control him. Our son can be like Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. Perfectly pleasant and kind, and then when things/situations don't go his way or as he planned, he loses his self-control. He has begun yelling at his mother when he is upset.
He receives two weeks of restriction when he yells at a parent or does not obey directions, but the restriction is, of course not, changing the behavior. How do we help him at this point so that he does not grow into a teenager and adult who is disrespectful to others and who loses his temper when things don't go his way?
