Question
Mr. Rosemond,
We eat dinner as a family most nights and I have a question about the proper seating arrangement. We have four children, 12b, 8g, 6b & 3b, and we sit at a rectangle table. Currently, my wife and I sit at opposite ends of the table. Growing up, my dad sat at the head of an oval table and my mom at his right hand. My conscience is urging me to sit a the head of the table with my wife at my right hand, and then arrange the others seating with my oldest son at the opposite end or at my left hand. I don't know if it even matters where the children seat? What do you feel is the most authoritative set up for a family ad the dinner table?
