Question
Hello,
We have a 4.5 year old son. He has been using the word "poop" in everything. Trying to be funny. Or trying to get a rise? Depends. Here are a couple of examples.. I am 33 weeks pregnant so he "plays patty-cake with the baby" / my belly and at the end says "put it in the oven for POOP and me!". And laughs and walks away. Other times we are praying before dinner and I hear him add "poop" in the daily dinner prayer. Sometimes I ignore it. Other times I explain saying "talking about poop is impolite. Please use your manners. If you want to talk about poop you can do it with your friends." And he will say: "My girl friends don't like it when I talk about poop. But my boy friends do." I remember reading a Rosemond column saying not to ignore bad behavior. But I also don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill. This has been going on daily for about 1 week now...Your help is appreciated!
