Question
We have a 2 year old (4 months from turning 3) who finds disobedience hilarious. As his mom, I am struggling to know how to discipline and correct him. I will give a few examples.
He locked us out of the house when we were on the back porch. I was very stern with him and told him to immediately unlock the door, but all he did was laugh. He will also run away when asked to come to me, usually laughing hysterically. He is fast, so I have to run to catch him and physically bring him where he needs to go. He also throws toys on the ground and refuses to pick them up. We have been either putting him in his room or spanking him for these behaviors, but they seem ineffective.
How can we improve obedience?
