Teaching Respect

Question

My twin 6-year olds (one boy, one girl) are pretty good kids most of the time. But recently we’ve been struggling. They listen and obey my husband and I, but they don’t listen to other adults. This has become a problem with grandparents and in Sunday School at church. If we are around them when they disobey other adults we will promptly remind them to “listen to grandma/your teacher (etc)”, and they will. But if we aren’t there we can’t enforce it. How do I get them to understand that they have to respect and obey all adults, even and especially when mom and dad aren’t there?
