The Bedtime Snack Dilemma

Question

Hi! Lately my children (ages 5, 8, and 10) have started saying they’re hungry again an hour after dinner and right before bed. I’m certain it’s not a bedtime delay strategy because they still do it when bedtime isn’t close. They don’t all do it every time, I have one kid who is worse about this than the others but if one gets something they all want something. Their dinners are balanced and they’re offered appropriate amounts of food, I just feel like maybe they’re developing a habit of snacking (maybe even out of boredom?). Should I be allowing a snack after dinner? I don’t mind letting them have something healthy but when I’ve allowed it I see that it encourages them to make a habit of it and keep asking every night. What should I be doing?
