Potty Training Isn’t the Same for Each Child

Question

I began potty training my second son 6 days ago. He is so different than my first! Help! He doesn't seem too concerned about messes. He simply says "Uh-oh" and keeps on playing. When I say "Go sit on the potty" he ignores me and carries on playing. If I try to lead him to or put him on it, he screams and kicks. So on day 6 I started using the the gate, doc and bell. I have a 4 year old son too and I feel like he has been a HUGE distraction. He helps but also won't just leave my 22 month old to figure it out himself. My child HATED the gate. He screamed and screamed the first two times but ended it successfully peeing some in the potty. The last time was a fail! He screamed for 20 min which upset the whole household and then pooped on the floor. Then I had to clean it up and wipe him. I need encouragement please!
