Question
Our three year old daughter still loves being the center of attention. She can occupy herself for a time, but it seems like a majority of her time is spent trying to get my attention, asking me to play with her or wanting to do whatever I’m doing. We also have a 17 month old and I am often paying attention to him, so our three year old is still trying to steal the spotlight. I know John talks about how three years olds should be able to occupy themselves for long periods of time but I’m afraid our daughter is nowhere near this. How can I encourage her to play independently and not always have me play with her?
