Big Sister 11 wants some space from 8 year old brother

Question

Thank you so much for the thoughtful and helpful ways you've equipped me as a parent since signing up to this site.
I've come to understand that I should let my kids resolve issues they have with each other and I've been doing this.

However, my 8 year old son came to me asking for how to go about giving his 11 year old sister some space when he feels like playing with her. This is something that has been an issue between them. The younger one likes spending time with the sister even after they've both spent time together.

Both of them have alone time and time to play together.

What do you suggest I could tell him or both of them to nudge them in the right direction in a way that makes them sort it out? Or do I need to do anything to teach them (not rescue).
