Teach instead of rescue.

Question

My 11 year old daughter has noticed that her 8 year old brother is academically more able than she is, particularly in Maths. Over the years, we've repeatedly told her to celebrate her own strengths. The truth is that she's not doing badly herself for her age; but she's realised how above average her brother is for his age.

We've told both kids that as long as they're doing their best, that's what matters. She sometimes confides in me about how she feels and I encourage her as best as I can.
Could you kindly give me more guidance on how to handle this in a way that's best for both kids.
