Question
My 7 year old struggles to play by himself. He wants me to play with him all the time. For example he is always complaining he cannot find a Lego piece before he has actually looked, he needs help etc when he is capable of looking and doing what he is doing by himself. I really don’t enjoy playing and the nagging and whining from him. He always moans I don’t want to play with him. I usually play with him for around 1 hour per day most days building Lego, playing a puzzle or game. I know this season is hard on children being home with different routines and less socialisation but I am very drained being a single parent during this time having a 9 month old baby to look after too and want him to be able to entertain himself without being disrupted when I need to do tasks or want to sit and read for a little while. I feel like the only way I can get some peace is by using screen time and I don’t want to rely on screens all the time.
