Question
My 16 month old has started occasionally hitting his father and me in the face (not super hard). He thinks it’s funny when I grab his arm to prevent him from hitting me; he thinks it’s a great game! Should I start giving him timeouts? It doesn’t hurt or anything and it’s a little funny to us but I don’t want to set a bad precedent. My idea for a time out is to use a pack n play. Do you think that’s a good idea? Sometimes if he gets really cranky (he’s getting a bunch of teeth) I will put him in his crib for quiet time and he loves it and it calms him down. He can spend up to an hour just quietly playing there. When he hits he’s not in a bad mood, just a bit hyper. What do you think?
