Toilet Training for a 23 month

Question

My husband and I are on Day 6 of potty training using the Toilet Training Without Tantrums. We have had a few successes but... we're frustrated.
Our daughter is 23 months old. She's been naked from the waist down. We have a potty in the living room, where she spends most of her time, and we have a potty seat on the toilet in the downstairs bathroom. We've been using both - we take the little potty to her room during naps and sleeping at night. We've been setting a potty bell for different times (depending on how much water she's had or when she ate meals).
We're frustrated with the lack of success. She is not unwilling to sit on the potty, but she'll get down - and then pee on the floor. Or she'll want to sit and sit and sit some more before naptime and we finally assume she's just playing - and then she poops all over the floor (that's only happened once, thank God).
What are we doing wrong, and how can we fix it? Or is this just something we need to power through? She's going to "school" in two days and they're more than willing to help train her but we've been stuck inside for six days going stir crazy and getting frustrated with the lack of success.
