Question
We are a family with 4 kids (13 year old boy, 13 year old girl, 11 year old girl, 4 year old girl). None of them have any electronics (since October 2019). The three older ones did have cell phones which they were allowed limited access to on the weekends. We have since come to our senses regarding teens having/needing cell phones. However, since October, the kids continue with their sibling conflict, yelling and/or hitting each other. Our older boy, continues being disrespectful to me, his Mom. He talks back when I ask him to do something or tell him “no”. The girls share a room and the boys share a room, so kicking them out of “The Garden” has been problematic. Our question is should we give them Christmas presents?. I feel there should not be presents for the older three because they are not acting respectful in our home. My husband feels that is extreme but also acknowledges that what we are doing isn’t working.
