Question
My son is 13. He has been lying fairly often. He got a detention at school but told me he was getting help from the teacher with his work he didn’t understand. Of course I found out when the school sent me the email about the detention. I told him when school started he would be grounded 9 weeks if he got a detention. So he knew the consequences. He lied about wanting to go to a football game with his friends when he was actually planning to meet a girl and his friends were not even going. Just need some guidance on how to handle the lying. I just don’t want it to get worse.
