Should I make my daughter do volunteer work? She needs service hours for confirmation but mostly needs an eye opener about helping others. I found a horse therapy stable that will let kids over 12 volunteer (she loves horses), so thought it would be ideal. She is not interested because riding is fun but any associated work is not. I then told her to pick something else that interested her, which she didn't do because "it's not fun." I feel that she needs a lesson in gratitude and charity, but I'm not sure how to accomplish that and forcing this may not be the way to do that.
