Question
How would you answer a 3 year old grandson when he ask where his mommy is, when mommy walked away 5 months ago and we dont know if or when she will come back into the picture. Child lives in a loving environment with his dad. And is at my house ( grandparents) many days a week when dad needs us. I am a Christian with strong faith that the Lord will work things out for good eventually, but I am at a loss now how to answer him “Mommy loves you, but shes not feeling well right now- it may take a while but When mommy is better, you will see her.” Obviously, after 5 months- no word from mom- this isnt an appropriate answer. His questions are coming less frequently, but memories surface at times. I want to make sure we are saying the right thing. Thank you.
