Question
About a year ago my daughter and her friend accidentally spilled some nail polish on the counter and tried to cover it up and not tell us. She was punished by cleaning all the bathrooms in our house, plus spending time in her room. Obviously it was an accident, but the lying about it bothered us. Here it is, at age 10, almost 11, I found spilled nail polish in her bathroom again! I think she got it from her sister. She didn’t try to hide it but didn’t tell me about it either. She has been known to spill things (paint) or write on things she shouldn’t (books) before and not tell us. Right now I have her in her room for the day. How should I handle this?
