One day at church, my husband noticed my 11 YO daughter pinching her hand when he stopped our daughters having a silent squabble in the pew. Her younger sister is 16 months younger and often they don't get along.
My husband is focusing on that action, saying she is in need of counseling and this is a sign of greater trauma to come. I think it was a venting of frustration and trying to keep it together during the service.
I also want him to consider other ways of helping her besides counseling, where she could feel like something is wrong with her. As a preteen girl, emotions are inevitable. Am I brushing a larger problem under the rug?
