Question
About 18 months ago, our now 16 year old son told us he is gay. We have a good relationship with him. He is a Christian as are we. Our family goes to church every week and is very involved in serving at church and in our community. We love our son no matter what, but we are feeling very alone and unable to find solid advice. Is it harmful for us to tell our son that we don’t believe that God made him that way? Could this possibly be just a stage of development? We know that this topic is very controversial, but we are sincerely seeking guidance. We have only love for our son, but I fear that he is too young to decide his lifestyle for the rest of his life. I do not want him to be judged or treated without respect or dignity. Please share your experience with this situation and any resources you recommend. Thank you
