Question
My 18 month girl just started hitting me and laughing and scratching my face tonight when I was putting on her pajamas! She has never done this to me before, she tried to hit my husband once (a few weeks ago) but that was the end of it. The problem is that she did it right before bedtime so I didn’t know what to do. I’ve read about time outs, but I’ve never had to do one before, and right before bed didn’t seem right. I told her “no book tonight” as a punishment, but she didn’t seem to care or understand. What was the right thing to do? To be fair she was having a rough day cutting a tooth, but this behavior is unacceptable!
