Anger Begets Anger

Question

I need advice on losing my temper with my kids. They are 3 and 6 and occasionally I lose my temper- scream at them, sometimes use a swear word and am just mean to them. Yes they have done something wrong (I.e refused to clean up after multiple requests, making a mess after me telling them not to). So A- any advice as to how to control my temper before I lash out as I know kids are better behaved when parents remain calm even when reprimanding children and B- how to respond to my kids after I’ve lost my temper as I believe a parent should never apologize to a child for this. Do you agree? Thanks in advance for the help
