Trauma Causes Diabetes?

Question

I recently went to a conference that had a trauma counselor speak. A lot of it was psychology. She said psychology used to not be a measurable science, but after new studies it now is. She said there are now studies that link health problems such as diabetes, depression, and heart disease are correlated to a traumatic event in a child's life. I asked how much of this is actually poor family diet and she did not know. I wondered what you thought about the issue. I know what you say about there being no science to psychology. I tend to think this is more about diet than trauma. Maybe the trauma caused poor diet. The kids turned to food.
