Utilize "Mother's Helper" to Get through Tough Times

Question

My husband and I have three children- a five year old daughter and twin boys who just turned three. Just looking for “in general” - my husband works late 3-4 days a week, and does not get home until the kids are in bed. Our evenings consist of me rushing to pick them up from school and preschool, rushing home to fix dinner, get everyone fed, bathed and in bed before 9 PM. Overall, they are good kids. But they are very hyperactive, and often do not listen. I have tried the time out method, and putting them in their room, as you have suggested before, but I find it so hard in the evenings- just trying to get all of the “essential” things done, that discipline is last on my list. I will be honest, it is very hard on me, trying, and I am not sure how to handle things. I want them to listen to me, and I also don’t know how to calm them down. I feel bad trying to discipline them because they have so much energy, but I don’t know how to calm them down. Just looking for any advice on how to save my sanity!
