Question
Hi there. We have an almost 6 year old girl who has horrific tantrums. They occur about once every two weeks. Is this normal? Our other kids tantrums were never this awful (even worse than the 3 year old).
She has lost privileges to the point of staying in her room without any toys as you suggest. Tomorrow morning she is in her room until we leave for school and as soon as she gets home from school for the rest of the day. This is the first time we've had to punish her this long. The punishment was for her outright disobedience, not the tantrum. Should we also punish for the tantrum as well? I'm trying not to get into the psychobabble and think something is seriously wrong with her (chemically imbalanced) but I cannot figure this one out. Thanks in advance.
