Question
The potty training program is not working. I've been doing it for about a week with my 23 month old. The first two days he peed in the potty 2x each day. Since then he hasn't peed in the potty one single time. I started using a timer halfway through the second day when it became apparent that he couldn't care less about making a puddle. He'll sit on the potty for 2 seconds after the timer goes off and say "all done" without peeing and then later pee in his underwear. Today I put him in cloth training pants because I was tired of pee on the floor. A few hours later he pulled down his training pants and peed on the floor (not near the potty, either). At what point do I conclude that this is not going to work at this time? It is not reasonable for me to have to deal with pee on the floor for months in hopes that someday toilet training will actually click.
