Question
My 19 month old throws food defiantly and we are so tired of this battle that’s been occurring for almost 1 yr now, we have tried taking food away immediately, saying “no food stays on your tray” religiously, time-out, dumping cold water on her and just today a spanking. I feel like it’s getting out of control emotionally for me bc I get upset and feel like I have no control over my toddle. I’ve read Johns toddler book and know he suggests feeding toddlers separately at a small kids table. We rarely sit down as a family and I try to pay little attention to her while she eats in her high chair, but end up sitting next to her usually. She’s a super picky eater and I’m afraid if we just do a small table I won’t be able to keep her there to eat..
