Question
My 13 year old son is Negative Nellie and complains about everything. And by everything I mean everything. This behavior really started in February of this year when we sold our home but has gotten increasingly worse as the year progressed. Now that I'm home with him over the summer, I'm growing extremely tired of the constant complaining. We've tried giving him positive feedback (which leads to more negative talk), ignoring the talk (we're then told how much we hate him), and currently have him on a behavior contract (thanks to Rosemond's "Tame the Summer Bummer" article) but I'm losing my mind and I'm really over his negative attitude. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.
