Question
My husband and 19 year old son seem to have absolutely no relationship. (My husband adopted my kids) I’ve been urging them for years to go do stuff together, whatever. 2 weeks ago, our counselor suggested they go somewhere together... and that my husband express (in sandwich format) that he’s proud of him but concerned about X key areas and let him know we are here to help him move forward if he finds himself unsure of going w to do so.
My husband isn’t much of a talker...but the relationship between them versus that of my husband and daughter is obviously very different. I believe this is NOT “to blame” but definitely part of our bigger issues here too.
How can I help? Why is this so hard for them? Why do you suggest?
