I'm looking for advice on what to say to my daughter when she she asks me if she's fat. She is 8, and not fat at all. She is tall for her age and has a healthy athletic body as she plays multiple sports and does gymnastics. She compares herself to some of her friends who are much smaller than her and very thin. I've explained to her that God has made her exactly the way she should be and she is healthy. Today a boy called her fat and as she was going to bed told me that she doesn't understand why her tummy isn't "straight".....I don't want to turn this into a big issue, so I'm struggling to the right words to encourage her to feel good about exactly who she is. I can't believe this is starting at such a young age.
