13 yo Food Fights

Question

My child’s doctor wants her to be gluten free and sugar free. Super difficult, but seems to make a huge difference In her brain fog/memory. She’s much easier to talk to, gets her stuff done without me hounding, and seems way more alert and healthier when I force this. HOWEVER. She is 13. I am sick of fighting about it. She consistently cheats and lies about food now. Hiding candy she’s gotten at school, etc. It’s weird. I feel like I’m always on her...and I don’t want to be. Which is more important? The food she eats/health? Or our relationship? Bc I’ve found one cannot exist alongside the other. Help?
