Question
What would be the best way to prepare a 6 year old boy for an upcoming surgery? Do I let him know about it a few days in advance? Tell him the morning of? He is a worrier, so I'm not sure how soon to tell him. Also, how much detail is appropriate? He had cancer when he was 1, and when he asks about his scars, I simply say he was sick, and the doctors fixed him. His cancer may have come back, and I'm just not sure how/when to let him know about the surgery.
