Question
Dear John, our 7 yr old son has been masturbating since he was 2. In the beginning we told him he was only allowed to do that in his room, but then he started doing it in front of anyone including his younger sister. So we felt we had to put stop to it. We called in the doctor among other things and it kinda died down for alittle while, he would do it out of frustration for instance if we stuck him in room for behavior and he was upset or just little here and there. But it has persisted and is happening more frequently. he's 7 now and it's not only in his room but I'll catch him in living room with blanket over him doing it, or worse, his younger sister will catch him doing it. I feel it has become a bad habit for him and should be stopped and not allowed to continue since he obviously can't control himself. We would appreciate suggestions for a plan of action! Thanks!
